Dao-in is a set of exercises practiced by the ancient
Chinese. Some Taoists were said to live to be over
120 years old because of the practice. Dao-in uses
various techniques, including stretching, twisting,
tapping, slapping, pressing, pushing, and
massaging. Massaging forms are included in a
separate Self Massage; thus, they are not repeated
here.
Breathing is an integral part of many Eastern spiritual practices. Many forms of Dao-in
coordinate a body movement with breathing. This combination benefits not only the body
but also the mind. After performing Dao-in, practitioners will feel a relaxed body as well
as a calm state of mind.
